Terms of Use
Effective November 1, 2026 · BIOS Advisor is a product of LIKE A KING INC., a New York corporation ("we", "us").
Please read Section 10 (Disclaimers) and Section 16 (Arbitration) carefully. BIOS Advisor gives advice about firmware settings; changing firmware settings is at your own risk.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using BIOS Advisor (the agent app, the dashboard, the boot-time tool, the website, the API and any related services, together the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company, and "you" includes it. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. License to use the app
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Service for its intended purpose, within your plan's limits (for example, up to 3 machines on Personal). The Service is licensed, not sold; no ownership transfers to you. You may not copy, modify, resell, rent or redistribute it, remove notices, circumvent licence checks, or decompile or reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows. Third-party components are licensed under their own terms (see the third-party notices included with the app).
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a plan, and at least 13 years old to use free features with a parent's or guardian's permission. You may not use the Service if you are in, or acting for someone in, a country or on a list subject to U.S. sanctions. You are responsible for keeping your account and pairing codes secure.
4. Pricing, payment and refunds
- Prices are in U.S. dollars and shown before you pay. Personal and Pro are one-time payments for a licence key: there are no subscriptions, no automatic renewals and no recurring charges. Fleet and partner plans are governed by their order form.
- All sales are final. The licence key is delivered immediately when payment completes, so purchases are non-refundable except for a duplicate charge, a key that was never delivered, or where the law requires it. See the Refund Policy, which you accept at checkout.
- Chargebacks: if a payment is disputed or reversed, the licence is deactivated and we may share purchase, delivery and usage records with the payment processor.
- Taxes: applicable sales taxes are added at checkout where required.
- Price changes never affect a licence you already bought.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't receive or store your full card number.
5. Your content and machine data
You own your data, including your machines' inventories, settings, reports and notes ("Machine Data"). You grant us only the license needed to operate the Service for you: to store, process and display it, and to send it to the AI provider you choose for your review. We do not use your Machine Data to train AI models unless you opt in. With your separate consent, we may use anonymized board and setting data (never serial numbers or personal data) to improve our board knowledge. Details are in the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data at any time.
6. Machines that belong to others
Only scan, review or change machines you own or are authorized to manage (for example as an employee, IT provider or PC builder with your client's permission). Changing firmware settings on a machine you don't control may breach your agreements or the law. If you manage machines for others, you are responsible for getting their consent and for the changes you approve. BIOS Advisor does not record audio, video, faces or voices.
7. Third-party services
The Service works with third-party services, including AI providers you select (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI, OpenRouter, or a local model you run), Stripe for payments, hardware makers' own settings tools and interfaces (for example Dell, HP and Lenovo), server management interfaces (Redfish), and app stores. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. When you use your own AI key, your requests go to that provider under your agreement with them. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their output.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service for anything illegal; access, scan or change machines without authorization; attempt to bypass firmware passwords, security features or licence checks; disable security protections on machines you don't control; use the Service to damage hardware or to create malware or firmware implants; interfere with or overload the Service; scrape, copy or resell our board knowledge or reports; reverse engineer the Service (except where allowed by law); or misuse AI outputs. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
9. Our intellectual property
BIOS Advisor, its name and logo, software, designs, board knowledge base, reports and documentation belong to LIKE A KING INC. or its licensors and are protected by law. Nothing in these Terms gives you rights to our brand. If you send feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without obligation. Product, brand and firmware names mentioned in the Service belong to their owners and are used only to describe compatibility; no endorsement is implied. To report copyright infringement (DMCA), use our contact form.
10. Disclaimers
- Advice only; you decide. BIOS Advisor reads your hardware and settings and suggests changes. You choose whether to make them. Firmware (BIOS/UEFI) changes can make a computer unstable or unable to start, can cause data loss, and in some cases can affect a manufacturer's warranty. Back up your data and your BIOS settings first. Most boards offer "Load Optimized Defaults" or a CMOS reset to recover; we explain these, but we can't guarantee recovery.
- AI can be wrong. Reviews are generated with the help of AI and built-in checks. They may be inaccurate or incomplete, and menu names differ between boards and BIOS versions. Check against your board's manual.
- Encryption and security. Changing Secure Boot, TPM or boot settings may prompt for your BitLocker or other disk-encryption recovery key. Keep your recovery keys before making changes. We never advise disabling security protections on managed or fleet devices.
- No overclocking advice. We don't recommend voltage, overclocking or other changes beyond your hardware's rated profiles, and we're not responsible if you make them.
- "As is." The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. Performance gains are estimates and vary by system.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LIKE A KING INC. and its officers, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, use or goodwill, or for hardware damage, downtime or recovery costs, arising from or related to the Service or any firmware change, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100 if greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless LIKE A KING INC. from claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service on machines you weren't authorized to manage, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
13. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law, with notice where reasonable. On termination your license ends; you can export your data for 30 days, after which we delete it (except what we must keep by law, such as billing records). Sections 5 (licence to us, as needed to wind down), 9 to 12 and 15 to 18 survive.
14. App store terms
If you get the app from an app store (for example the Microsoft Store), that store's terms also apply. The store is not responsible for the app or its support; we are. Where a store's rules require additional terms (for example a store being a third-party beneficiary of these Terms), those terms are incorporated here for apps obtained from that store.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 16, the state and federal courts in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Dispute resolution and arbitration
Please read this section; it affects your rights. Before filing a claim, contact us through the contact form and give us 30 days to resolve it informally. If we can't, any dispute will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (or Commercial Rules for business customers), held in New York or by video. You and we waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class-wide arbitration. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead. Opt-out: you can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by sending your name and a clear statement that you opt out through the contact form.
17. State-specific notices
- California: California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA described in our Privacy Policy. Under Cal. Civ. Code §1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
- New York: our products are one-time purchases with no automatic renewal; the refund policy is shown and accepted before payment.
- Other states: residents of states with consumer privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and Oregon) have the rights described in our Privacy Policy. We don't collect biometric data.
18. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. For material changes we'll notify you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them. The effective date is at the top. Questions: use our contact form.
